Pre-MOT Checks and MOT Testing

All vehicles that are three or more years old require an MOT to be carried out annually. The MOT test looks at the safety of the vehicle and at its emissions. The test covers many different areas: from lights, tyres, to seatbelts, to brakes - many of the things that would compromise safety or the environment.

As well as carrying out MOT Testing, DSB Mechanical Services can Pre-MOT Check your vehicle before the MOT Test is due, possibly saving you costly repairs and a disappointing MOT Test result.

In April 2005, the Government introduced a scheme to computerise all MOT paperwork. One of the main benefits for drivers is that they can check the MOT status of any vehicle that they own, or are thinking of buying. This information is intended to enable potential buyers of a second-hand vehicle to make a well informed decision about its roadworthiness.
